Manchester City view Chelsea’s £75m asking price for Malo Gusto as ‘prohibitively high’

Manchester City consider Chelsea’s £75m asking price for Malo Gusto (23) as ‘prohibitively high’, making a move for the French international defender unlikely during the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. The Premier League club are keen on signing the former Lyon full-back from their divisional rivals.

With Chelsea unwilling to see the 23-year-old leave, they have set an asking price of £75m to deter interested parties. This has had the desired effect, with Manchester City deeming the asking price way too high for a deal to be done at the current asking price.

Manchester City struggling to find alternatives for Gusto

Despite City’s hesitance to pay such a fee for Gusto, they may be forced to reconsider. The Manchester outfit are struggling to find alternative targets to the Frenchman given the lack of high-quality right-backs currently available on the transfer market.
